For battery operated, we offer Louvolite lithium rechargeable motors. Motor will depend on the blind width.
- 500mm and under have an external battery pack due to size of motor
- 550mm-2400mm use the 1.2nm motor
- 2400mm and over use the 1.8nm motor
We also have 240v motors for electric hardwire. These do require pre-wiring and post-wiring by a registered electrician.
Measuring
Can we order blinds using the sizes from our house plan or window schedule?
No. Never order off a house plan, you must measure the actual windows, sizes on a plan are never the size of the actual window. Please refer to our step by step measuring guides for detailed advice. This is an expensive mistake to make.
What tools do I require for measuring?
A metal tape measure is the preferred tool for measuring your windows and doors as they give an accurate reading. A pen or pencil is also handy. You may require a ladder if your windows are particularly high. Having a second person is always helpful to hold one end of the tape measure while someone else reads the other end. While some people prefer a laser measure device, we suggest always double checking with a trusty tape measure.
Do I need to make any deductions when measuring the blinds?
No. All you need to do is measure exactly where you would like the blind to fit, our systems take deductions in to account. If you need to know what deductions we take please contact us before you order to avoid any misunderstanding.
What is the minimum and maximum width and drop for blinds?
Each product is different. Please contact us if you are unable to order a certain size so we can advise you of your options.
How do I measure for multiple Roller Blinds being installed side by side in the same window or door recess?
This is known a linked blinds and is commonly used when doors or windows are over 3000mm wide which is the maximum width you can order one Roller Blind at. We prefer to give you specific advice so if you can email us photos we will email you back a diagram for where to measure. Contact us for more information.

Design Advice
Do all blinds need to be the same type and colour?
You can choose whatever type of blind and colour you like. Often less is best, so for example in an open plan area have some consistency of colour and type of product. While looks are important you need to consider what is the purpose of the blind. A final suggestion is to consider what the product will look like from the outside of the house.
How do I colour match blinds to my existing blinds or to previous orders?
You can order samples online to ensure colour matches, or email us so we can look at your order history. We have records on file, we just need to know the first and last name associated with the order. Our blinds also have identification stickers hidden out of site, but they tell us everything we need to identify the order in the system. Please note overtime materials change and become discontinued. If your fabric has been discontinued we can help you find a close match.
Can I order or see samples before placing an order?
Yes, this is strongly advised as colours on screen will vary and the do not show texture or opacity. The colour on screen also does not show you the backing colour which also varies fabric to fabric. You can order 10-15 free samples by clicking on the "Order Samples" button. Samples are dispatched on a daily basis and don't take long to arrive.
Child Safety
What is Child Safety in regards to blinds?
Chain Safes fasten chains on blinds to reduce the risk of strangulation of young children. Please do not under estimate the possibility of this occurring. Chain safety devices are required by law in many countries. New Zealand does not currently have legislation for chain safety devices to be added to blind chains, but it is an easy to implement precautionary measure we offer to help keep your loved ones safe. They also provide a neat and tidy look and stop the chain from moving around in a draft. If you opt for the chain safe's at time of order we do not charge extra for these safety devices. If you forget to order them please email us to arrange some being sent out.
What Child Safe options are available?
Romans, Rollers and Verticals can be secured with Chain Safes. Honeycombs and Venetians can be secured with Cleats.
