Roller Blinds
Thermal Roller Blind
Double Roller Blinds are made up of two separate Roller Blinds but using one common bracket. Generally a Blockout Roller is fitted in the top slot of the bracket and either a Sunscreen or a Light Filter Roller in the lower slot of the bracket. Before ordering this product the first thing you should do is check you can fit the bracket into your frame recess. The dimensions are 88mm across and 150mm down. You could fit it in a 90mm recess comfortably and blinds will be flush inside frame. Less than a 90mm recess will still work, e.g. 60mm-70mm recess, but the bracket and blinds will protrude from the frame. Read more to see photo of bracket and roll set up.
Standard Roller Blind light gaps apply with Double Rollers
Double Rollers are perfect in almost all areas of the home. The Sunscreen provides daytime screening, shading and privacy. While the Blockout gives a full blockout privacy, thermal function. Each blind has its own chain, so you can independently control the blinds, generally chains are on the same side. The Roll direction of the top blind is defaulted to front roll this is the only option for the top blind. The lower blind (Sunscreen or Light Filter) generally would be back rolled to provide clearance from the top blind. But, you can choose to front roll the lower blind, that would be because you are wanting to avoid a window latch or door handle. If this set up applies to you, we suggest ordering oval bottom rails on your order. Oval bottom rails are the sleekest profile and they tend to glide over one another when both in up position front rolled.
It is not generally advised that you order Double Rollers for Outside Fit, unless you are ok with large light gaps as front blind with be protruding out into the room 90mm from wall or frame, so would not be ideal for a Bedroom that requires room darkening. If you don't have the frame depth for a Double Bracket an alternative you could consider is one blind Inside Fit (the Light Filter or Sunscreen) and one blind Outside Fit Back Rolled (the Blockout). They would not longer be considered Double Blinds as they are two separate sizes and require separate brackets.
